Nic Sheff is the character that the memoir is about who used to be a good student with high expectations. He loved school. He loved writing, being active, and loved many different types of arts. His siblings adored him, and got along with him very well. He was a great kid who many looked up to. But that didn’t last very long.

 

Nic turned from a beautiful boy, a good son and brother, to a complete stranger who was addicted to drugs. After his addiction, he became an unrecognizable person who chose drugs over family. He even robbed the family countless times and even lied to them because of the drugs.
